These languages are the workhorses behind operating systems, game engines, embedded systems, web browsers, and countless high-performance applications developed globally.

But these languages don't exist in a vacuum. They have rich histories, have evolved significantly over time, and are supported by a sophisticated ecosystem of compilers, build systems, and development tools. Today, let's embark on a journey through C, C++, and Rust, exploring their evolution, key features, and the crucial tools that bring their power to life.

The Foundation: The C Programming Language

  • Origins & Philosophy: Developed by the legendary Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs in the early 1970s, C was created primarily for programming the Unix operating system. Its philosophy was to be a low-level, portable, and highly efficient systems programming language, providing capabilities similar to assembly language but with high-level constructs like structured programming. C language was developed for unix programming.
